Mosque Uden

Cultural

Location: Uden, the Netherlands

Area:

Completion date: work in progress

The initial proposal is to plan the new building where the city's mosque will be located.

One of the things to understand is that this type of religious temple is not simply a place to pray. The internal programme of the building contains: offices, meeting places, galleries and a conference room. It is for this reason that these spaces must be designed for a wide variety of uses.

One of the most important parts of this project was the design of the façades.

As can be seen here, the proposals always seek the connection between traditional icons and modern design.

Here are two clear main elements: the blue colour so important in the Turkish ritual elements, representing tradition, and the clean white and gold used on the façades, illuminating the building like an urban spotlight.
